I've been wandering around Saltaire recently, and I've noticed that the jitter in the GPS traces seems much worse than in Leicester. The streets in Saltaire are narrower, with long rows of stone terraces, and a poorer view of the sky. I've had to do some 'best fit' ways, or ignoring certain outlying spikes when I know for certain that the road is straight...

The 2-3 years out of date Y! images, as useful as they are, can get thoroughly irritating at times. (admittedly, I wish the city had chosen not to devellop the area to begin with, but you can't get everything, alas.) I was entering route 81, but it turns out it was rerouted since I last used it and now serves a series of recently completed developments near the Saint-Joseph/Chauveau intersections that are completely missing on the satellite imagery.

Hours (if not days) ago, the GMA Network, Inc. announced the opening/launch of their 2 new studios in a building that they built since 2006 and was completed days/weeks/months back. The trouble is that it is near the GMA Network Center (the tall building with the GMA Network logo in it - the one with a rainbowish colored heart [I'm not sure] - placed at the extreme upper portion of the said building), and I haven't been there for over 5 years. My best bet is that it is just just a short stroll from one side of Samar Avenue to another.

Still, it didn't stop me from adding ways and some nodes in Pasig City (Between C5 & Marikina River), the area east of the Wack-Wack Golf & Country Club, the Makati CBD, and certain areas in Metro Manila.

I'm too tired to continue. Maybe next time, I'll elaborate on why I'm not doing my work in San Pablo City.

My first OSM project was Brugg. Most of the streets were traced by my car navigation device "TomTom Go710" with a special tracking software (TripMaster v1.8). This worked very fine.
Unfortunately TomTom is not very fast using this tracking software combined with the trees and buildings in the city, so de device has had no chances to get the coordinates of small foot and cycle roads.

I believe that OSM has the best online map of Eastwood City (apart from the the static map available at its website). Eastwood City is a mixed-use compact district containing malls, condominiums, and office buildings. Since I go to work here, it's just appropriate that I make this area as complete as possible.

Anyway, I just tweaked several things here based on the last look-around that I did this morning. I finally got the name of the northwestern exit road (Richmond Road), fixed the name of Palm Tree Avenue, and confirmed that a building is actually named Athena Building and not BPO Building. There's still plenty to do here such as putting the building footprint of the finished but still unopened 1880 Eastwood Avenue.

My next area of focus is the Fort Bonifacio Global City. I've already written a diary entry for that area.
