Including the pier addition with unrelated edits was my mistake. I have already added it back, with a few other details of the park.

You will find that nearly all of my edits are done after I have physically been to an area. I try to also capture Mapillary imagery. It seems that my camera powered down during my drive on Monday not long before I reached this area. So, now I have no proof of what I saw.

Trains are great. I like trains too. However, OpenStreetMap is a geospatial database that attempts to digitally represent _current_ realities.

When a railway is converted into something else, for instance a driveway, someone's home, a multiuse path; it is no longer a railway, abandoned or otherwise. It is now that new thing.

When an old railway is completely lost to time and can no longer be traversed on foot, of what value is to OpenStreetMap users? If anything it adds noise, implying someone might traverse its length or navigate by it, but it is gone... Its traces only visible using LIDAR or someone with a keen eye viewing a tree line in areal imagery. It is time that the former railway is moved to the Historical Map or accessed from OpenStreetMap's history.

You are welcome to put the abandoned railway back. I will get back over to that area eventually. I will then try harder to collect proof before I map what I find. And if again I find that it would be useful to have mapped what once was (as sad as it might be), I will map the area accordingly.

See the Michigan Wiki page for how we tag multi-use paths. When in doubt highway=path. Footway means foot=designated, as in, only for foot traffic. osm.wiki/Michigan#Common_Tagging_Schemes

After visiting it myself, I am sticking with my decision. Though, it is very close to a British pub, intended for talking and serves alcohol.

In OpenStreetMap parlance, a bar is a noisy (audio/visual) place. For Homebrew, I am going to try leisure=amusement_arcade instead of bar. Needs a tag stating the games are analog.

I changed my mind. I started into moving the ways from the bicycling route to the hiking route. Following the route, I have too many questions and not enough time. For the moment, I will leave it to someone else.

Found that these sections of path added were to the bicycling half of the Iron Belle Trail and am moving them to the hiking section now.

Also, iD suggests "cycleway" where a paved "path" would be more accurate (and more discoverable and routable by people on foot and in wheelchairs).

Also, as an old-skool OpenStreetMapper I am a bit of a purist. OpenStreetMap data is supposed to represent current on-the-ground realities. Having not seen the area, I am not sure if you have done this, but I would not add things which have only been planned for construction. For things that are under construction, have a look at the newer and more flexible tagging method.

The current standard for mapping a canoe/kayak/paddlecraft launch is a single point at the water's edge, preferably at the end of a trail leading to it, tagged with:
canoe=put_in;egress
Add any further descriptive tags.

At least now, they will not get sucked into a dam driving back there.

The highway segment is now concrete with a ford point at the creek. I figured that mapped the hazard and would render nicely. Someone with access to the site can improve it further.

If the water goes over. it is most likely a weir. But then, there is also a ford mapped there.
I drove over to see it for myself and found that I could not get very close.

This is tagged like a water lock, used to lift and lower boats in a waterway. I suspect you meant barrier=gate.

Just a note to say GPS coordinates are the source of truth, when it comes to positioning.
Arial imagery can be offset or skewed and in need of repositioning before using them.

The older method was used for freeway construction and renders like it.
