Where do you draw the line between the “on the ground” rule and the principle of “no tagging for the router”? On the ground is the abbreviated form on the sign and this abbreviated form refers to all other signs and tagged spellings in OSM, as already mentioned, the city name at the place node itself.
Let me understand why we are mapping two completely different spelling schemas of the same city, deviating from the on-the-ground rule?
