yes! Didn't source it because link already exists in source of the way: https://edc.nyc/project/east-midtown-waterfront

"Now known as East Midtown Greenway - 53rd to 61st Streets, this northern section of the esplanade connects to Andrew Haswell Green Park at 62nd Street and will include a pedestrian bridge to East 54th Street (In progress)"

Hi! Was hoping to discuss this edit -- Many mappers have mapped the roads at PSU in great granularity and bus lanes have not been added because they're really an extension of the road, and not separate ways. May I suggest you remove these separate lanes and add tags to Curtin road (in the corresponding areas) indicating the existence of a bus lane? See: osm.wiki/Bus_lanes

Thanks! Ostensibly, yes

excellent add. quick follow-up on the air control squadron area, too!

incorrect changeset comment - added metadata to track, not steeplechase tags

Probably more correctly called "Boal Estate Trails"

hahaha I figured it'd be fun to look under the hood in Huntington. Hope all is well!

It's awesome to see another editor in the centre region! For this edit, is Shotgun Pond the actual name of this pond, or is a colloquialism? If it's not the official, "on the ground" name, adding it as loc_name=Shotgun Pond and leaving the name field blank may be more appropriate. Let me know what you think.

Awesome! Thanks for adding these paths to osm

Stellar work, as always! Thank you for updating this construction project

Thanks! I think iD or other editors have a great opportunity in improving tag suggestions: @mbeyerle/diary/393767

That was quick! Looks fantastic.

Ahh gotcha that makes sense. I like the idea of a shared name. Local to me is the Mid-State Trail across Pennsylvania where the smaller trail is named next to "(MST)" for example: way/14233900

Thank you for enlightening me about European practice here by the way. I think your idea of mapping a shared name may be the best; although not ideal I think that solution preserves the most data, particularly for unsophisticated renderers.

@ppjj I think this is a well-intentioned changeset but agree with bhietsch that paths should be named both on the path and in the relation. When downloading local sections of map on an app or to a GPS, some devices may only display trail names, not names of the route relation. Guidance on the OSM wiki suggests, ""One feature, one OSM element" is concerning nodes/relations/ways not tags." sourced from osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element

As such, I think there would be merit in reverting this changeset to restore the names on many trails. That said, I want to personally thank you both for contributing on all these trails. I find navigating based on trail information from OSM hugely useful.

very observant! kudos to you

Thank you ben! your recent revisions have been beautiful too

Hey thank you for reaching out. I was doing some armchair editing and upgraded the tags per an iD editor warning suggesting they were outdated. You're more than welcome to revert the changeset, as I'm not local to the area and don't know if the station is open to passenger traffic.

Seeing as laurel run road was deleted with these edits, I would agree
