Hi,

Did you mean to delete the path from near Carn na Criche round the top of the crags of Garbh Choire Mor to Sgurr an Lochan Uaine...

Thanks.

Hi,
You changed Loch Gairloch, which is how it is on OS maps, to Gair Loch. Other than wikipedia I can find no other source for the name. Everyone knows it as Loch Gairloch. So why the change?

Thanks.

No bother. It helps to know relations are around, and some editors are set up better to show them.
Anyway I think you fixed them all.

Hi. The name "Speyside Way" should not be on the constituent paths. Some paths may have their own names. Speyside Way is already, correctly, a route relation. Please remove the erroneous name tags.

Hi,
Why have you added a restaurant to a private house?

145814835

We don't really use fell in Scotland. And whilst I kinda object to our moors having to be tagged as heath, it is heather moorland. So that's the accepted tag. Tundra seems an odd tag to use. It's neither cold, nor high. The closest we have to the general idea of tundra is the Cairngorm plateaux.

Anyway, either reconsider, or if you are done with the area I can take it over.

I just didn't want to tread on your toes.

Hi,
You created a multipolygon of natural tundra. I'm wondering why as large areas of moor land like this is usually marked as natural-heath or scrub? And are you still working on it?
Thanks.

Hi. Can I just say Thanks for some excellent mapping of heath, bog and waterways. Its almost a work of art and as accurate as I can figure.
I wish mine were as good.

Good, I think. Not sure how I would have created a duplicate, but it looks fine now you've been through!
Thanks.

Changeset comment meant to be: improve line of paths, add fences, gates, cattle_grid, and other details.

The only paths we mark are officially adopted trails like the West Highland Way. Anything else, Cape Wrath, Cairngorms Loop, etc, are not marked. Nor will you won't find a signpost or trail blazes to Ben MacDui. We traditionally have expected people to have a map and be competent.

I'd not heard of these Rother books before. I'm kind of surprised you have added them as routes when you say they aren't accurate.

They don't sound appropriate to add if I'm honest. But I won't delete them. I'll leave you to consider that, maybe.

Hi. You've added a number of relations with names Cairngorms Trekking 1,2,3. Do you have any sources for the names of these routes, as they look like personal planning? I can't find any other sources.
Thanks.

Changeset comment typo, the house is marked Pait Lodge.

Whoops, hit return by mistake. Changeset comment should read: Mark historical paths as abandoned. I don't believe they should be in OSM at all as unverifiable and non-existent on aerial photography.

Hi there.
You've added some paths which I can't find on Bing or ESRI aerial photography or have any strava heatmap traces along them. What sources did you use ?

E.g: way/1215793367#map=15/57.0216/-5.2619

Thanks

Hi,
Why are you changing highway=path to footway? - which is where a path is designated to pedestrians. Which doesn't really exist as such here and since they are used by mountain bikers, who are legally entitled to use them, isn't appropriate?
Thanks.

Okay. So to make sure I have the picture correctly. Is your property a 'garden' which people have some access to at certain times? Or are you a purely private property like anyone else's garden?

139466932

There are lots of service roads to properties marked on OSM, but that's beside the point.

OS hasn't removed your driveway from their mapping, I can still see it. And I doubt they would anyway. It's a valid thing to map. Anyway, this is about OpenStreetMap.

Changing things on OSM or OS is not going to stop people acting stupidly on your driveway. You need to stop them having access to it with gates or a chain.

I see your gardens are listed on VisitScotland and discoverscottishgardens.org. Have you discussed the problems you are having with them. Or contacted the local police for more practical advice.

139466932

Hi. Why have you deleted this service road/driveway?

You realise that won't help you police your property, and someone, often a local mapper will replace it. The existence of a way on OpenStreetMap does not indicate a right of access - what you can do is to mark it private with an access tag "access=private". What you shouldn't do is to delete valid data.

No that's fine. Names start somehow.
