Please do not modify the path of footpaths with the `designation=public_footpath` tag, these paths are legal public right of ways which have footpath signage on ground marking them.

You also seem to have a habit of splitting ways, please stop this as it adds bloat. In this changeset you split Heol-y-Dderwen into two ways for no reason.

these are not crossings, crossings require some kind of physical indicator on the ground, use links instead.

Hi Chrissy,
I'm responding to your request for a review.

The middle house, Ger Y Nant is tagged perfectly. you can make the shape a bit cleaner by using the "q" shortcut to square the building. this also works when selecting multiple areas.

The other 6 buildings unfortunately have some incorrect tags. you've used "row of terraced houses" (building=house house=terrace) instead of "terraced house" (building=house house=terraced). the former is used to map an entire terrace as a single area instead of mapping individual houses.

For house names like this you should only use the address field and leave the name empty. there is no need to duplicate the name. same as what you've done for Ger Y Nant.

If I'm understanding this correctly there are two substeets here, Glen View and Fern Cottages, both are on the street Parkway. house name is not correct place to put a substreet name. unfortunately substreets are a uniquely British problem and as a result the online OSM editor ("ID") doesn't support the tag to represent them. the correct tag is `addr:substreet=Glen View` instead of `addr:housename` you can add this manually in the tags section.

I've taken the liberty to make these changes for you so you may use it as refence. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Kind regards,
Kits

Hello Cloudy,
I have to ask for you to please stop adding fictitious crossing. Many of the crossing you've added should in fact be `highway=footway footway=link` however other crossings like those around pengam lights just do not exist in any way and should not be mapped. I believe this is the second time I've removed fictitious crossings from pengam lights which were added by yourself.

You seem intent on mapping sidewalks which is fine but please read the wiki and understand how tags should be used. sidewalks should be tagged `highway=footway footway=sidewalks`. any road that has separately mapped sidewalks should also be tagged with `sidewalk:<left/right/both>=seperate` you can read more here: osm.wiki/Sidewalks
a `highway=footway footway=crossing` should always cross a `highway=crossing` node where it crosses the road, many of yours are lacking the node. you can see examples of this on the wiki: footway=crossing

I've also gone to the effort of mapping the sidewalks around High St in high detail so that you may use it as an example.

Hello avi,

I've reverted your recent changes as your usage of pedestrian highway areas is incorrect. pedestrian highway areas are used to define the extent of a pedestrian road. St Mary Street is a good example of this. Wood St is not a pedestrian road. I would strongly suggest making smaller scale changes in lest dense areas until you get more experience with OSM.

Kind regards,
kits

Hi Jacob,
I'm reverting this change as I know for a fact that these are not one way roads and I'm 90% sure its a 20 up to the edge of the town from own local knowledge.

it appears to be closed for 8 weeks from the 16th march. https://www.salisburyjournal.co.uk/business/business/25913925.a343-salisbury-andover-shut-eight-weeks/

personally i would revert this change. the closure is too temporary and can cause havoc if for example a satnav company takes a snapshot of osm while this road is closed.

Hello Darklotfr,
Why did you delete all the buildings within lewis school pengam?

Hi Garh,
Welcome to OSM and thank you for your contribution. I've done a little bit of a clean up here and mapped a handful of houses try and give a template to work from. Here's some feedback:

If a building has only one address then the building object should get the address and the entrance should be left blank. if it has multiple then the building should be blank and the entrances should have the addresses.

`access=destination` is used for cases where a road has a "except for access" restriction sign on it.

there isnt a need to link the house to the road, the address does that and `service=driveway` doesnt really fit here, all the parking spaces could be mapped as private street side parking with `amenity=parking parking=street_side access=private`. the wiki has some more information on this here: parking=street_side

If you have any questions please feel free to ask me or the forums or the discord.

Kind regards,
Kits

Sorry please disregard apparently my memory is failing, I even surveyed the final alignment for panoramax. I should have checked the images before i reverted. The north alignment was temopary while the road was under construction. the road now goes south again around the houses I've undone my revert now.

I've reverted this change. Please do not blindly makes changes based on out of date imagery. The road alignment has been completely altered here and a new bridge was built when the A465 was dualled.

I realize now that I've made a bit of an error and misunderstood this changeset. I thought this was a replacement of `finely_mown=yes` to `grass=finely_mown` rather than `surface=grass`. so do disregard my last comment. I still say the same that this should have been discussed before hand just go give other users a opportunity to protest before the change is executed.

(hit enter by mistake)

This is not a "blatant fix", a blatant fix would be a single letter typo. a blatant fix could even be be `house=yes` (1.7k uses) to `building=house`(65.5m uses). `finely_mown=yes`(1k uses) vs `grass=finely_mown` (2.5k uses) is a alternative tagging convention and NEEDS discussion before changing on mass. `grass=finely_mown` has even been in decline in recent years.

i agree that it makes sense to replace `finely_mown=yes` with `grass=finely_mown` however such a automated change should have been discussed on the forums at a very minimum. This obviously goes against the osm.wiki/Automated_Edits_code_of_conduct

Hello Cloudy,
Thank you for contributing to OSM. I have a few minor issues with this changeset. Please do try to avoid creating paths that don't exist in reality like near the shop on Bedwelty road, even if you believe such a fake path would be beneficial in some way. OSM only maps what is on the ground and nothing else. Please also note that "marked crossings" are used for things like zebra crossings where there are markings on the roadway. "unmarked crossing" is used for instances where the only evidence of a crossing is a lowered curb and there are no markings on the roadway. I've taken the liberty to fix both of these issues in this instance.

If you have any questions the community is more than happy to help, best places to ask are either on the forum at https://community.openstreetmap.org/
or on the discord https://discord.com/invite/openstreetmap

Hi there Portal,
Most, if not all, of these farmlands look more like meadows to me. Due to the uneven terrain it is very rare to see crops being grown within the Welsh Valleys. Most land is used for grazing instead.

Hi, Might be worth adding check_date to the nodes with panoramax image date. its a habit i've started to adopt with my own shop mapping.

Once again, can you please add description changeset comments? "edits" is not useful. The changeset comment field exists for a reason, please use it.
