| 119816211 | Hi! I'm going to revert this changeset - cycleways that are not cycle lanes should normally be tagged separately to roads.

Hello again. You're doing great work at updating QMC. Have you seen this article on aligning the imagery? The aerial imagery (e.g. Bing) isn't always aligned properly, so it's best to align the imagery to the Cadastral Parcels layer first. https://osmuk.org/cadastral-parcels/ Jon

Note - I've not used OSMUK Cadastral Parcels, and most of the changes aren't on aerial imagery anyway, so alignment may not be great.

Hello. Tagging it as motor_vehicle=private ought to do it, as long as the sat navs/journey planners use OSM as their data source. Unfortunately, not all journey planners will update immediately. If you know which journey planners are causing problems, it would be best to contact them directly to make sure they do take an update. This entry in the Wiki seems most appropriate: access=*#Road_where_residents.2C_pedestrians_and_cyclists_are_allowed (further down, there's a table with all the possible values, like "yes", "private", etc.) Jon

Hi! With OpenStreetMap, we map what is on the ground - this is a road with restricted access, so should be tagged with motor_vehicle=private rather than changing it to a highway=bridleway. I'll fix it shortly. Jon

Hi! Thanks for adding all these rights of way to the map. Local authority reference numbers for public footpaths are recorded in the "prow_ref" tag, not the "name" tag ( see prow_ref=* ). Jon

Thanks for replying. I think that most speakers of Urdu are not members of the Ahmadiyya community (an Urdu-speaking friend of mine who lives nearby is not a member, for example, and would not use that name for the village). The Wikipedia page refers to the village as just "ٹلفورڈ" (https://ur.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%B9%D9%84%D9%81%D9%88%D8%B1%DA%88). Jon

Hi! Can you confirm the source of this name? I've not heard Tilford referred to as Islamabad. Jon

Hello again. No problem - I've put it back as it was. Jon
|
Hi! According to the Council, Shinfield Eastern Relief Road is closed south of Cutbush Lane East for roadworks until 18/02/2022. It was certainly closed on Sunday. Can you confirm the source of your edit please - has the road reopened early? Jon

Incidentally, on highway=footway, you don't need to add bicycle=no/horse=no as these are implied (osm.wiki/OSM_tags_for_routing/Access_restrictions#United_Kingdom). all of "permissive", "designated" and "yes" mean "allowed" (access=*#List_of_possible_values) Jon
