For Mereway (e.g. 4189557 and 1159463221), as a dual_carriageway=yes I think that bicycle=yes is implied. With that in mind and also the presence of a dedicated cycle path nearby (67827330), I would suggest removing the bicycle=yes tagging from the dual carriageway -- especially as parts of it are tagged lit=no in addition.

I learned of this changeset from a forum post at: https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/i-have-a-problem-with-a-user-being-very-rigid-with-legal-interpretation-of-access-rules/139067/27

@[Pete Owens] tagging the footway as bicycle=no appears to have the effect of causing the CycleStreets router to suggest to the user that they should ride on the road regardless of the riding style (quiet / fast) that they select.

Is that what you intended, or would bicycle=dismount be more appropriate?

Ok, thanks - I'll trust you on this. If you know whether there is a good/clear pedestrian path to the beginning of the trail from the bus stop on Hillfoots Road, that could help - but don't worry. I do remember the service buses up to the monument (white, multi-passenger golf-cart style buses if I remember correctly).

Thanks - I agree that the step feature -- including handrails on at least one wall of the building -- could be refined. To begin with I have simplified the shape: changeset/180523240

Thank you!

Nope, my mistake: both the circular area and west side feature are indeed hedge-like. Even so, I'd suggest considering natural=shrubbery with shrubbery:density=medium - it's up to you.

NB: the circular area in the middle of Gardner's Crescent Gardens, and also the feature along the west side of the garden, are both flowerbeds, not hedges, I think. I'll go to check that soon. Ref: way/1391609216

Hi - thanks for contributing to the map; I think your edit might have reduced the routability of this path for pedestrians, though. I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember this being a relatively wide section of pedestrian-access path that leads to a trail up to the Wallace Monument -- so I'm not sure that retagging as highway=service is ideal. Please could you check?

I've also opened a note for other mappers at: way/216949700

Thanks for the updates - the shape one of the ways seems unexpected after the edits; could you take a look? It is: way/434879816

The updated start_date tag on this confused me for a few moments - thank you, though - it seems accurate.

Ok. I'm not 100% certain, but I believe that Organic Maps has recently added an -- unreleased -- feature to enable display of public_transport=platform as lines on the map: https://github.com/organicmaps/organicmaps/pull/12245

Similarly, comaps has a feature request for this open: https://codeberg.org/comaps/comaps/issues/3482

Thanks! (this resolved addition of a bike shop for note note/5153243 )

Thank you! (re: figuring out whether Seeds for the Soul or Confelicity is the current business on the premises here).

Hello - thanks for caring about highlighting information for users; however I think this may be a care where we should not map for a specific renderer: osm.wiki/Good_practice#Don't_map_for_the_renderer

Have you followed/reported bugthreads in the OrganicMaps app about this?

Just so you know: I've reverted the water tap back to disused:amenity=drinking_water in changeset changeset/179327997

NB: I contacted Scottish Water to ask whether they could check about this tap last year (~Summer Y2025), and today I've learned that it was raised in a Q&A with Edinburgh Council towards the end of Y2024 too. Ref: https://democracy.edinburgh.gov.uk/documents/b25418/Questions%20and%20Answers%2007th-Nov-2024%2010.00%20City%20of%20Edinburgh%20Council.pdf?T=9

Thanks for noticing it and editing the existing node - I hope it becomes functional in future.

Thanks for updating this water tap - it doesn't seem to be functioning, though. Pressing the button didn't dispense any water when I checked earlier today.

Is Chadderton BESS online? The entry in a recently-published DESNZ REPD database (see the repd:id tag) doesn't seem to indicate that it is operational yet? Ref: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/6985c316d3f57710b50a9b1f/REPD_Publication_Q4_2025.csv

Thanks for the review!

(and yep, I was there at Geomob - during various pub conversations about progress on A-roads and SotM EU)
