> I see that you probably imported the data from a database, which is fine

Is it tho? Imports do have guidelines to be followed: osm.wiki/Import/Guidelines. Also data outside NYC is at least 14 years old: "As of 2012 Ghostbikes.org has been unable to add information about Ghost Bikes outside of New York City"

Hi Seandebasti,

node/12528767102

what's the meaning of height:range=12? Usually this tag contains ranges of heights (e.g ">24", "5 to 6 m", "5-6" ecc.).

thanks and good mapping

Ciao Plaintelive,

grazie e buon mapping

Thanks, I started cleaning up some data, moving the english genus from the species tag to the correct genus:en tag.

I noticed a problem in some nodes: genus and genus:en reference to two different genuses.

An example here: node/13423927522

Genus is Celtis (->hackberries or nettle trees in english), but genus:en is Locust (->Robinia). Which one is correct? Celtis or Robinia?

Here instead: node/13423927487
genus:en is Locust (Robinia), but genus is "Other". Shouldn't it be Robinia?

thanks and good mapping!

HI Bernhard_r,

so do you confirm this is not a "sorbus aucuparia" but a Betula (birke)? I ask because you changed the genus, name and species tags but you left the old genus:de/species:de tags, pointing to another genus.

thanks and good mapping

Tags do not need to be supported by editors by the way, there are lot of "de facto" and "in use" tags that are not part of iD presets.

178678261

Please read the wiki: species=*

The species=* tag is for the species only. Data consumers expect to find the species in the species tag, not the genus.

Ciao li_lucarini,

way/1489418276

Hi Yog Sot,

I noticed you are duplicating the genus=* value in the species=* tag. Please use the species=* tag for the species only (if it's only a word, is probably a genus). E.g. "Fraxinus" is the genus, "Fraxinus americana", "Fraxinus angustifolia" and "Fraxinus excelsior" are species.

I also noticed sometimes you put the genus in the species=* tag, but an actually species in the species:pl=* tag. E.g. species=Populus + species:pl="Topola włoska" (which is polish for Populus nigra).

I fixed some of these cases

thanks and good mapping

Hi UnusualWorld,

I noticed you added some species=Spruce. What kind of spruce species are they? If the precise species is not known, the value could be rather moved to genus:en.

Hi Yog Sot,

I noticed some tree have multiple values.
e.g. node/13447296282
this tree has 6 different circumference values. what's it's meaning?

it's a multi stemmed tree, and these are the values of the six trunks
or
in the original source date, there are six different trees in the same coordinates
or
something else?

thanks and good mapping

p.s. is this import documented somewhere?

179761442

Hi lecosm,

what's the meaning of height=10-15?
it's a multi stemmed tree, and those are the measures of the two trunks
or
it's a height range, because the real value is unknown?

thanks and good mapping

Hi Yog Sot,

node/13289771282

I guess that building=storage on this tree is an error? or does it have some meaning? I also noticed you used wikidata/wikipedia instead of species:wikidata/species:wikipedia

thanks and good mapping!

155805783

Hi G-Wolf,

if these are really information boards, the wikidata values you added should be moved from wikidata/wikipedia to subject:wikidata/subject:wikipedia. If those are trees, they should be remapped as such and the wikidata values should be moved to from wikidata/wikipedia to species:wikidata/species:wikipedia.

thanks and good mapping!
