I've just removed the building=mosque tag from Alloa Mosque because, counter-intuitively, that tag is reserved for purpose-built mosques. I've retagged as an amenity=place of worship

quick question tho, there is a computer shop in the middle of the area you created. do you know, did that predate the mosque and has not gone, or are they on different levels, or is one or other of them badly placed?

Just to say I'm going to change the tags on the building named Al-Shirkatul Islamiyyah to "yes" rather than "mosque".

Counter-intuitiviely, building=mosque is reserved for purpose-built mosques. From aerial view the other building, currently labelled as a place of worship named The London Mosque, and showing with the crescent and star symbol, may well be a building=mosque, if the dome is original (I suspect it probably is; it's on the qibla, suggesting it was designed and built as a mosque in the first place)

The Shirkat building looks like an ancillary building repurposed from sometihng else - unless you know otherwise?

I thought I'd mention it as I am trying to harmonise mosque tagging, and I've seen you've made a similar edit on other sites.

sorry, one more thing: there is another POI in that building, a Pakistani community centre.

my overwhelming suspicion is that the mosque is the community centre - for some reason they get called "community centre", and maybe they were originally intended that way, but eventually they are pure mosque.

do you know how it's signed on the street? their website calls it "Portobello Masjid", you have "Portobello Mosque", and Google (which I'm not going to use, obvs) has a sign on the outside of the building with the full name of the community centre.

any thoughts, or better knowledge than my Sassenach guessing?

unintuitively "mosque" means purpose built as a mosque, and this is a converted industrial / commercial unit I believe.

I'll probably transfer the tags from the node you set onto the building itself at some point and delete the node - if you have views about the orthodox approach of node vs building tags, pls say!

Thanks for your edits to Thorpe Rd following the upgrade that added bike routes.

I've harmonised the whole length of the route to fit your tagging - ie, tagging the cycle track as a tag on the main way, and removing the separate way where one was still in place

I don't know what general practice is, but I did wonder whether the cycle track should be shown as a separate way. One possible advantage would be to show the priority at the junctions; and it would make clearer that it is effectively a separate carriageway for bikes, rather than a painted line in the road.

But I'm not completely clear what the various tags indicate, so wanted to ask first - especially as your tagging is obviously carefully considered.

I'm just looking at the Airfield Cycleway relation, and saw you'd added cycleway=crossing to way/455388707.

Is that quite right? There is no crossing there for cycles: they have to join the carriageway. There is a crossing for pedestrians, which I'll add in a moment.
