Sorry ... wrong battery name... will have to research it again... it is shown on the forts maps in the museum, as that is how I inquired to ranger Kirkland that there were some earthen things over across the highway ... We immediately went an looked it over and he pulled out some maps with the battery names on them and speculated which one had 4 mortar sites.

Other batteries were covered over in the construction of the beach highway, and later by the addition of a landfill site in the areas. Battery Hambright is the only surviving one left ... I discovered this by accident and then reported the mortar earthen works to then park ranger Talley Kirkland who attempted to have the area protected under the Natl. Park service but due to several logistical hurdles this was never done.

There is a new development that is here and has many more roads. Please help and update.

Is there a reason why the Talon path is split into 3 separate paths? The park annotates it as 1 trail.
