Should have been kept primary. I66 isn't a toll highway
I get the point that was made. However, US 29 is a major route and has more at-grade intersections with major roads(including major secondary state routes) where I-66 ignores those routes and only focuses on US and primary routes. Important roads (eg West Ox Road, Monument Drive, Blake Lane) get overlooked, which forces more people to get off at even busier exits(eg Chain Bridge, US 50) where Lee Highway has some apart grade intersections but not fully apart grade.

I'd like to point out that these edits are inconsistent and don't reflect traffic patterns
| 134284455 | I would keep them trunk for 2 reasons 1. The road is a continuous stretch, and connects towns eg Fairfax-Centreville
US 29 and US 50 are still important routes that connect the beltway to Centreville and Gainesville, so that's my justification for trunk classification.
yeah good idea. There should have been a collector road that connected
Also I meant secondary btw
This was a necessary extension to the primary route. It makes it more complete with the interstate
Hello, I just wanted to clarify that some of your road choices may be innacurate. You turned SR 772 back to secondary, which should be primary because it is a main artery in the area. It has commercial developments and is adjacent to Northstar Boulevard, which makes it classify for primary.
It would, however if Northstar was primary after extending it; that would also mean Ryan Road would be primary because it has commercial and connects Loudoun county parkway to Northstar.
I get this point now, however, both meet the criteria for secondary, as they are both state routes(unless they are secondary state routes, then they remain tertiary)
Promoting SR 3171 to secondary is a good idea. However, SR 659 should be secondary from SR 772 to Evergreen Mills Road because it acts as a somewhat important artery in Brambleton. Everything else should remain Tertiary.
However, I would say that 14th has the edge for primary because it connects to 395 and is a major arterial until U street where 15th is important, but it is a collector and doesn't get as much traffic or recognition as 14th street
This can be reverted if inaccurate, however, there were some needed changes
That is a good idea. I will extend 14th back to secondary at Irving Street, which I will also make secondary because it is a relatively important road in Columbia Heights, otherwise, I would leave everything as it is
This edit can be reverted at anytime and if I made any mistake, reach out.
Tell me if I made a mistake on this edit
These edits were based mainly on traffic flow and just collectors to other primary roads
I think this a good idea. However, because 14th street, NW is a main artery that goes to I-395, it should be primary from Thomas Circle to Constitution Avenue, while 15th street should be secondary because it's a only a collector road from K street NW(US 29 through Raoul Wallenberg Place) because it's a major road but doesn't have nearly as much traffic or general importance as 14th street in this dedicated area
This is a good idea for planning, and I just needed to clarify and ask consensus to change the routes to primary like SR 650, US 29, however, I think this map is accurate now since the primary stretch is better reflecting off the road's traffic patterns, lanes(even though not justified), and importance to the community as a primary artery.
