| 102774916 | Hi Mike. Just spotted 3 more near Guiseley Wells.

| 101349819 | Thanks. I've changed that bit and added some walls. changeset/104379857#map=17/53.86463/-1.72542 |
| 101349819 | Thanks for pointing that out, I'd forgotten about it. There isn't anything similar up at the road end is there. It's just one big opening |
| 101349819 | Hi Malcolm Where you've added a footpath next to the farm track to Hollins Hill farm, usually that would just be joined to the track at either end and the designation added to the track. I'll fix this unless there's a reason for having it separate? |
| 96432816 | Okay, thanks. Yes, I remember it being up, I can't remember how I got up. I guess there must have been something or I probably wouldn't have marked it as a stile. But maybe it's now been removed. Cheers again for looking. |
| 96432816 | Thanks for checking. When you say a gap, do you mean a big gap or a squeezer (examples on barrier=stile#Stile_details )
| 96432816 | Oh good 🙂 Or maybe both exist and can be walked depending on the whim of the farmer? |
| 96432816 | Okay, no worries. I'll try and see if it's still there next time I'm out that way |
| 97649757 | 👍 Footway is also what I use. You can also add informal=yes for desire lines and the like |
| 96432816 | I know, it's awkward seeing changes on OSM isn't it. It's node/7771217026 but that doesn't help much!
I think what you've added is also there but when I walked that way was blocked by a temporary electric fence if I remember right, but there was a stile I went over. In general, I think if you're going to change / delete something that's already on the map it's worth looking at whether it was just added by someone using Bing or from a 'survey', and how recent it was. Thanks |
| 97649757 | Thanks Malcolm. Yeah, it's something I've struggled with and unfortunately there isn't a straightforward answer overall. However, in this case there is. If it's a pavement beside a road it should be highway=footway; footway=sidewalk (they use the American term because it has a specific meaning). I think it doesn't help that iD uses path and footpath.

| 97649757 | Hi Malcolm
Thanks |
| 96432816 | Hi Malcolm. The stile I added existed in July last year. Has it been removed? |

| 79194612 | Thanks. I've added the wikidata tag changeset/102828058 . I may update the wikidata page but got daunted first time around! |
| 49169 | P.S. I thought you knocked the conversation about level of mapping detail on talk-gb into a cocked hat :) |
| 49169 | Thanks very much Mike. The sign certainly exists: https://postimg.cc/PvZVpzXY The arrow, and its position on the path side of the wall, has me think that it isn't referring to the road at the back of Belle Vue Terrace. See also https://postimg.cc/5HrM8gVR So, I think change what is currently called Green Terrace to be an unnamed highway=service, service=alley; name the path and the building outline. You ask a good question about Belle Vue Terrace. I had been thinking that because the road was at the front of the houses it was okay as a highway=residential, but now I look again, it's more like a parking area to the side of the highway=service that runs to the mechanics yard at the back of the theatre: https://postimg.cc/Q9WZm7Nx
Looking on the web, the addresses for those businesses are given as Unit #, Belle Vue Terrace, so it seems it would be legitimate to move it to be the road that goes into that yard, either as a highway=service or a highway=residential? |
