The install file in my first post above refers to a page on 'switch2osm.org', I think that were the instructions I followed.

Primarily I expect people not to put test data into the main database, and keep them there for days. There are hundreds of different data consumers and renderers (carto being just one of them), if every of those puts their test data in, we cannot find any real anymore.

So the conclusion is, whoever wants to test, needs to set up his test environment.

Neither do I use nor maintain the sandbox as described here osm.wiki/Sandbox_for_editing, but I understand it is mostly for testing clients and editing processes, not rendering.

You don't need a tileserver, Tilemill is just a desktop programme that reads from a small local database and applies the carto style.

I checked a number of Goethe institutes, and it seems there is no consistent tagging yet. Maybe for the centre type, community_centre=language_centre would work, plus language=german.

Hi shuui, when you say here node/3978229774 community_centre:for=german, that means the target group of the centre are only German people. From their website, it looks more like community_centre=cultural_centre (without :for), and maybe language=german.

It might be better to set a node for the centre in the restaurant polygon, so you can use the standard tagging for the centre.

Laut Webseite gibt es eine Geschäftsstelle in einem anderen Gebäude der Ingolstädter Str., das wäre dann auch nur ein office=* und kein youth_centre. Wäre es letzteres, sollte es als amenity=community_centre getaggt werden.

Du vermischst in deiner Argumentation regelmässig Umbenennungen mit Übersetzungen. Auch ist ein touristisches Interesse nicht plausibel wenn flächendeckend Strassen in kleinen Dörfern mit name:de versehen werden, da diese Namen dort heute nicht gebräuchlich sind.

old_name(:de) ist der richtige Tag, gern auch mit Angabe der Epoche als old_name:YYYY-YYYY.

Wir hatten das in changeset/34066712 bereits kommentiert, du hast den name:de-Wert hier schon mehrfach umgesetzt.

Hi stweb, why did you try to delete the woods? Clearly visible in the Mapbox satellite, Paama is covered mostly with woods. So if you find the details to inaccurate, you can refine them, but just deleting is rude. Further, you only broke the relation, not deleting the members.

Until better imagery is available, the better strategy would be to restore the relation, and to cut out more of the settlements as inner members of the multipolygon. I can help with the restoration.

Prima. Der Erstmapper ist immer sehr präzise mit Geometrien, beim Tagging muss man aufpassen :-)

Dabei stellte sich auch heraus, dass die Kita gar nicht in der Hnr 23 ist, das ist das Gemeindezentrum, sondern mit eigenem Gelände in Hnr 27/29 gegenüber. Ist gefixt.

Hi, du hast die ganzen Kirchendaten vom Gebäude auf das Aussengelände gelegt, war das Absicht? Dass das Gelände als PoW getaggt war, halte ich eher für einen Flüchtigkeitsfehler des Erstmappers. Auch die Kita ist ja kein PoW. landuse=religious wäre hingegen geeignet.

Hast du eine Idee wie man beim Elevator die Stockwerke angeben sollte? Du hast ihn mit einem Stück Fussweg an level 1 angebunden, aber der Bezug zu level 0 fehlt irgendwie.

Heisst eigentlich der unter Regionalbahnsteig Ru (derzeit Erkner-S-Bahn) heute schon offiziell so?
