When mapping crosswalks, please don't forget to connect crosswalk to the relevant road. :)
Also, crosswalks controlled by traffic lights should be tagged as crossing=traffic_signals
While crossing=marked is intended for "STOP" crosswalks.

You are correct, I shouldn't have said "invalid".I was thinking of uri= tag instead.
Nonetheless, url= tag is more ambiguous. It's better suited as a suffix tag.

On that page it states: "it is advised not to use this tag when more specific alternatives are available such as website=* or contact:website=*, image=*, wikipedia=* and so on."
