I do agree with all the point made and with the relation deletion. Would it be possible to wait about or week before I do it? The matter was sent to both OSMWeekly – to make it reach more people who may find it easier to explore still existing elements – and the euro deputy – in order to know if the route will be signposted.

From the intel I have, the route has been publicly opened a few days ago. I used the official GPX track to map the relation using nearest highways and haven’t surveyed it. Even without waymarks – yet? – I think OpenStreetMap could show it as it is an official route, similar to a state border. Given it’s my personal opinion, I’ll forward the case to members from french community to receive their comments on that matter. Feel free to share it to the german community so that we can reach an agreement and improve mapping practices.

Au temps pour moi, je viens de comprendre que ces modifications sont en France Métro’. Le cœur du message reste le même, tu peux ignorer la dernière phrase.

On that first point I’m not sure if relation:street isn’t more suited than relation:associatedStreet for that purpose. But I’m don’t have a position on that matter, especially as according to TagInfo[1] it seems nearly as used in associatedStreet (2093 uses) than in street (3901 uses). Moreover I just decided to remotely look into French Guiana which may have different mapping practices than where I’ve mapped to this day.

Hi, glad to see a fellow sidewalks’ mapper! I found multiple points confusing in your contribution:

– Why does this way[1] only does have a name? Not that I’m either for or against adding name key to sidewalk but that’s rather odd.
– Was it really necessary to add access tag on sidewalks? I thought of them a rather implicitely open to pedestrians only.
– Why would you create a one-member multipolygon relation?[2]
