Hi, falls es sich bei way/1078916707 und way/1078916708 um Reitplätze handelt (was ich nach den Luftbildern stark vermute) wäre ein entsprechendes Tagging als osm.wiki/DE:Tag:leisure=pitch#Reitplatz sinnvoller.

You have removed the building tags from way/993666667 and way/1015324733 and replaced them with leisure=horse_riding . These objects look like buildings in the aerial view, therefore I assume it was not intended to remove the building tags. And the horse_riding tag is not really appropriate for buildings, it is for the whole riding centre, see leisure=horse_riding . I have seen mappers doing this several times recently and wonder why they do it. Maybe there should be some warning in iD.

I think, the horse_riding tag is inappropriate for a manege; a better tag would be leisure=sports_hall, see wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:building=riding_hall and leisure=sports_hall#Examples . The horse_riding tag is for the whole equestrian centre (see leisure=horse_riding), but in this case this is already tagged as sports_centre.

You are not the only one who did that. Yes, the horse_riding tag can be put on the farmyard area like it is done in the example on the wiki page, then it contains the riding hall and the stable. But on their websites they write that they also have an outdoor riding arena of 25 x 50 m. This is not mapped yet. If someone maps it, the horse_riding area should be extended so that it contains the outdoor arena, because this also belongs to the whole facility.

Wenn du schon dran schreibst name=Reitplatz (und er sieht ja im Luftbild auch so aus) dann würde ich ihn auch als Reitplatz taggen, siehe osm.wiki/DE:Tag:leisure=pitch#Reitplatz . Im iD einfach "Reitplatz" eingeben und auswählen. Das Reitanlagen-Tag (osm.wiki/DE:Tag:leisure=horse_riding) wäre eher für die gesamte Anlage incl. Stall und Paddocks geeignet.

Hi. Why did you remove the building tag from this building? Isn't there a building anymore? I assume this is the riding hall / indoor arena which is described on https://www.ruitersclub-saeftinghe.be and http://www.ruitersclubsaeftinghe.be/Welkom.html . The tag leisure=horse_riding is not for a building, it is for the whole facility described on these websites (including all the other stuff, especially the outdoor arena which is not mapped yet, compare leisure=horse_riding) So the node was more appropriate for this whole facility. For the tagging for the riding hall / indoor arena see building=riding_hall

way/1076536540 looks like a riding arena to me in the aerial view, but you tagged it with leisure=horse_riding. Please have a look at the wiki page for this tag (leisure=horse_riding) and check if this is really the right tag for this area. 4 months ago you tagged a similar area (way/1038702581) with leisure=pitch + sport=equestrian, which is normally used for riding arenas and recommended in the wiki (leisure=pitch#Riding_arena). Also the other areas that you have tagged with leisure=horse_riding seem to be only riding arenas. The use of the tag leisure=horse_riding seems to be quite confused in your country in general, I couldn't find a good example there showing the difference between leisure=horse_riding (riding centre) and leisure=pitch + sport=equestrian (riding arena). Here is one from the Leningrad region: way/536620374 .

Nach der Website vom RFV Legelshurst scheint way/1075911825 der Turnierplatz zu sein. Wenn das stimmt, sollte der nicht mit leisure=horse_riding gataggt werden, sondern mit leisure=pitch + sport=equestrian. Dafür gibt es in iD den Preset mit Namen "Reitplatz". leisure=horse_riding steht für eine komplette Reitanlage, in diesem Fall die Reitanlage vom RFV. Wenn der Turnierplatz dazu gehört, sollte man die Fläche dieser Reitanlage (way/707989865) so vergrößern, dass sie den Turnierplatz mit einschließt.

I think this was a bad idea. Did you have a look at osm.wiki/Tag=leisure=horse_riding ? It says: "The tag is for the whole area which may contain one or more riding arenas, stables, riding halls, other related buildings or paddocks". I think the tag leisure=horse_riding was correct on the larger area and the riding arena (the smaller area where equestrian sports takes place) should be tagged with leisure=pitch + sport=equestrian; this is how it's usually done; compare the examples on the wiki page for horse_riding and also on the wiki page for pitch (leisure=pitch#Riding_arena.). If you want to add landuse=animal_keeping to leisure=horse_riding, I don't care, it doesn't hurt. But tagging a riding arena with leisure=horse_riding is like tagging a tennis court with leisure=sports_centre.

way/1075614049 looks more like a riding arena (jumping arena) than a riding centre in the aerial view. If this is true it should be tagged as pitch (sport=equestrian).

way/1075113495 und way/1075113496 sehen im Luftbild und von der Größe her für mich nach Reitplätzen aus und nicht nach Reitanlagen. Früher hast du sowas doch als pitche getaggt (z.B. way/846810554 und way/846810555) und so ist es ja nach Wiki auch richtig. Wieso machst du das denn neuerdings andersrum (es gibt noch andere Stellen als hier)?

Hi, I assume that way/1074363391 and way/1074363460 are for the riding rings described here; https://homesteadhorsefarm.com/about-us . If this is true the tag leisure=horse_riding is inappropriate for them and they should be tagged with leisure=pitch + sport=equestrian, compare wiki. There is also a preset for such riding rings in iD with name "Horseback Riding Arena". Why didn't you use that instead of preset "Horseback Riding Center"? Maybe the presets can be improved somehow.

I think, to make the tagging of this rancho compatible with the wiki the (round) riding arena would have to be tagged with leisure=pitch + sport=equestrian (like here: way/1017919854) and leisure=horse_riding would also have to be removed from the buildings and instead be put only once for the whole rancho either on the node together with place=farm or on the area of the rancho (like here: way/543831678). Compare leisure=horse_riding . Do you agree?

Shouldn't the tags of node/3657032761 better be on way/1071755336 ? iD shows a warning for the node: "Horse Riding Centre Witney Pony Partners should be a standalone point based on ots tags". But a standalone point isn't necessary if it is mapped as an area.

The riding areas (carrieres) should not be tagged with leisure=horse_riding but with leisure=pitch + sport=equestrian., the area tagged with leisure=horse_riding should contain all the things that belong to the riding centre / centre equestre, compare osm.wiki/FR:Équitation and its links.
