There is also a long term diversion of the Coastal Path for flood defence work, local signage does not specify for how long. Diversion cuts across the grass outside the county offices, along the path to Wellington Gardens, Wellington Street, Vulcan Place, along the footpath up river until crossing at Bridge Street, then back down Market Street. The diversion around the footbridge is redundant at this point of construction but seemingly still in effect anyway.

Coastal Path deviates from Beach Parade.

New flood defences require remapping Quay Parade and the south and east sides of the small harbour. Avilable satellite imagery is not up to date.
