Gates have been erected here blocking the route. These are only open approx. 8AM to 6PM on weekdays, and sometimes Saturdays. When closed, you can get round to the East.
Kent Footpaths don't seem to be interested. I reported it last March (with photos) but I see the entry has been removed!

The road crossing here has been improved but is still quite dangerous.

North Downs Way

Walking along the NDW here, looking over the fence to the South, there is an amazing quite deep wooded valley, with an unmade track running down the middle. Alongside the NDW near the (locked) gate, and about half way down there is a substantial partially cleared bank with a wooden bench right near the edge. On one of my visits there was a young woman sitting on it. I was tempted to call out, but she was obviously deep in thought so I left her in peace.
I have no idea what the place is called, or who owns it.

This used to be part of the North Downs way, but was abandoned when Jade's Crossing bridge was built, and the route taken there instead of a very dangerous road crossing here.
The path is still public right of way, and last time I was there, two NDW markers were still in place!
