| 5287838 | Bright Asare | Asanteman is a village located in the Eastern Region of Ghana, specifically within the Asene-Manso-Akroso District. It has a population of approximately 2,270 residents. The village is situated less than 1.5 km from the largest tree in West Africa. It has one public primary school, the Asanteman Presby Primary School, and one junior high school, the Asanteman DA Junior High School. In addition, the village has one private basic school. These schools serve not only the residents of Asanteman but also nearby communities, including Mofram, Akuamase, Baadu, Apamso, Adimso, and Ohiafo. Asanteman also has a CHPS compound under the Ministry of Health, Ghana, which provides healthcare services to residents of the village and surrounding communities. Most of the working-class residents of Asanteman are peasant farmers engaged in the cultivation of cocoa, oil palm, and other food crops. Challenges Currently, the village lacks reliable network connectivity, making it difficult for residents and visitors to use mobile phones and other internet-enabled digital devices. According to residents, this challenge has negatively affected businesses and social relationships and has also contributed significantly to rural-to-urban migration among the youth. In addition, the community faces inadequate access to water supply in schools and in some parts of the village. |
