Запилил всё-таки отдельную статистику по тегам для OpenLandcoverMap

Так она выглядит понятнее чем на TagInfo. Видно, что рендерится, что не рендерится и что с чем складывается.

А еще видно, что процесс объявления тега устаревшим (“deprecation”) на самом деле (до конца) не работает.

Старые сельскохозяйственные теги: landuse=farm, landuse=field, landuse=agriculture, landuse=pasture по прежнему достаточно сильные, чтобы засветиться на генерализированной карте. Area Score – это количество 6-ти километровых гексов, которые этот тег занимает, и является на нем главным!

И это не смотря на то, что их выпиливали сотнями(!) тысяч!

A simple diary entry to share a date that means a lot to me: last Sunday (07/01/24) marked ten years since my first contribution to the project. 🙂

landuse=forestry – какой-то новомодный и очень странный тег. Видимо natural=wood и landuse=forest скучно вдвоем, и решили добавить третий.

Из описания не совсем понятно, обозначает он деревья, или нет, и деревья должны быть нарисованы отдельно, традиционным способом

(типичное Forestry согласно осм-вики)

You may also tag the the wooded area with natural=wood and/or landcover=trees. this is orthogonal with the forestry area.

Вы можете [если хотите] обозначить деревья как natural=wood и/или landcover=trees. Это ортогонально зоне forestry.

Вот так и написано, ортогонально!

А еще Мерриам-Вебстер считает, что forestry это не сколько “лесничество”, сколько “лесоведение”.

In the past, as I’ve traveled, I’ve found it pretty easy to find a library when I need one. I have offline maps from OpenAndroMaps that I use with OruxMaps. I open it to my search area and ask it where the libraries are and it gives me a few. Suddenly this is failing. Perhaps it was already failing and I wasn’t finding as many as are there.

The first failure was in Etna, California. OSM directed me to a parking lot with no library around it. Luckily, I had signal that worked and could find an address 1.5 blocks away. This mark got moved when I got home.

The second failure was in Ely, Nevada. This is the county seat. There is no way they don’t have a library. My map said no. Again, I had some signal and was able to find an address. It’s a big building next to the courthouse, well lit and full of books and has excellent internet. Now that I’ve located it on OSM, I found it was marked as a post office. There’s one post office in Ely and it’s off on the east edge of town. USPS doesn’t know about this one. It’s all better now. The White Pine County Library lives!

The third failure was in Hawthorne, Nevada. This was a lesser failure. When I was lazy and just searched for something with the word “library”, I got nothing. But when wandered through the menus to search the type, I got it. It just needed to be named. Now it is the Mineral County Library.

Before, I had suspected that someone had gone through and systematically added libraries. Maybe they have and just haven’t gotten to Nevada and northern California. In Utah, I was even able to find out about the tiny library in Bluff, housed in the old jail! It’s so small it was only open 2 days a week for a few hours. At that time, it was one of the only libraries that left the internet on while closed. (I’m glad a lot more do this now. Is there a tag for that?)

Anyway, libraries, very important mapping and there’s some still in need!

Они неизбежны. Хорошая новость: таких объектов мало, а значит таких правок будет мало.

Правки пересекающие 180-ый меридиан

… возникают при откате этимологии массовых правках на территориях разделённых им. Или при редактировании объектов около него.

В осмовском bbox правая граница больше левой. А что если мы вспомним, что живём на шаре? Какую рамку мы бы хотели увидеть? Подсказка:

Inflated Tea

So I am just learning Open Street Maps, but after the Massive Inflation that has come along, leaving coffee and tea prices at a gobsmacking 35-40 krona (3-4 Euro), I have set about trying to map cheaper spots in my home city of Stockholm. Here is a list, where Coffee and/or Tea is 15:- - 20:-. My first attempt did not turn up in searches - I guess the “Description” field doesn’t work for that.

Since toilets often cost 5:- 10:- kronor in Stockholm – a truly foul practice! – I have included information in this list as to which offer them for Free. There are several Panini Internazionales that do not have seating. I have only listed places where you can Sit here …

You should also know that public libraries also charge money for the priveledge of going to the bathroom in Stockholm, so they are not a good bet for Free places to sit - disgusting and fascist!

I have not included McDonalds, Max, Burger King or other fast food places here because I have trouble with the way the smell (or lets be honest- stink) of the disgusting food they sell. What is more, they are all on the HIGH side of cheap, charging at least 24:- or 25:- to sit in their nasty establishments with a small coffee or tea. Panini and the Grocery store cafes are chains, but innocuous ones as chains go, and I have done my best to locate locally owned cafes that don’t bar anyone who isn’t rich from sitting in their establishments by not having a single thing a normal person can afford.

Ich habe ein Problem Schäferhund Verein in Not. Ganz ehrlich… OG Rosstal Adresse Fernabrünster Strasse (?), 90574 Rosstal wird von Navi nicht erkannt. (Tesla) , weil die Strasse, nachdem sie in einen Feldweg asphaltiert dann in befestigten Sandwanderweg mündet, keinen Strassennamen mehr hat und auch nichts mehr im Auto anzeigt. Der Schäferhund Verein liegt linker Hand im Wald und man muss an der 2. T Kreuzung nach links abbiegen, aber bis dahin ist man meistens schon iranvorbeigefahren. Da sieht alles gleich aus. Ein großes Problem. Ich wollte einen richtungsweisenden Pfeil einfügen, aber ich scheiterte bereits auf dem Zielpunkt SV - Ortsgruppe Rosstal e.V. , das soll so quer über den Rasenplatz stehen, da wollte ich den Parkplatz und den Übungsplatz kennzeichnen. Kann mir jemand helfen? Wir haben im Mai eine Bundesdeutsche Sportveranstaltung. Wir müssen den Verein so Kennzeichen, das ca. 300 Menschen dort ohne Probleme hinfinden können und wissen, das sie direkt vor dem Vereinsheim parken können.

Mit heute bereits 6 Tage aktiv und 1432 Einträge. Zentrum der Einträge ist Sirnach (CH, Turgau).

Bin mit der Software sehr zufrieden. Sie ist klar, übersichtlich und macht Spass. Ein wenig Nachkorrigieren auf der OSM Website ist aber meist erforderlich.

Наш скромный проект раскручивается, набирает обороты и даже получает некоторое признание :) У нас теперь есть страничка на Taginfo:

TagInfo – обалденно полезная и удобная вещь, а “проекты” так вообще гениальнейшая идея. Можно посмотреть не только какие теги определены в вики, и даже не только какие теги реально есть в базе, но и кто какие теги действительно использует.

Сделать свой проект на TagInfo оказалось намного легче чем я ожидал, потребовалось всего несколько строчек кода. В итоге, мне не нужно пилить свой фронтэнд, чтобы показывать статистку по тегам в генерализованной карте.

И вопреки тому, что написано на TagInfo, данные о тегах, предоставленные нашим проектом как раз полные, потому что это не какой-то отдельный список тегов, про который я забуду через 2 дня, а это скрипт собирает теги с базы и файла стиля карты (CartoCSS).

I know that Nodes means something else in OSM but still trying to come up with a better term for what I have started considering nodes - namely areas that are a bit ambiguous in terms of what street they are ‘on’ because they are large enough to envelop or border a few different ones, and / or just very large parks, complexes, etc. that deserve their own dedicated exploration. One of these such not-nodes that we mapped today was St Luke’s Hospital / medical complex. We mainly walked around the outside and a few of the front entryways, mapping items like benches, trash cans, bicycle parking, art / memorial plaques, cameras, two mail drop boxes, one bus stop, and the chapel.

I was particularly interested to find a small sitting area with sculptures and memorial plaques which I hadn’t expected to see. I do have one annoyance with OSM, which I hope I can discover how to improve at some point: when I add a memorial plaque, I get a “fixme” telling me that it should be merged with a nearby building. Worse, some of the plaques that happened to be close enough to the building automatically merged with it. The problem is, these plaques were actually attached to freestanding sculptures in a courtyard / outdoor seating area and were not mounted on the building at all. One was free-standing next to a memorial tree that had been planted. I am not sure if there is a way to merge them with a sculpture, and for the ones that auto-attached to the building I could not figure out how to un-attach them.

Another node-like object that we looked at was a small cul-de-sac called Pearl street, that runs north-south for just a few blocks perpendicular to 43rd, near Sway coffee. We took the opportunity to return to Sway, this time driving instead of walking, and realized the parking (other than 5-minute spaces for folks getting takeout) was very limited. Pearl was mostly residential but had one church.

Kävin osana pyöräpysäköintipaikkojen kapasiteetin täydennystä läpi Helsingin kaupungin pyörätelineitä ja HSL:n kaupunkipyöräasemien tietoja paikkaillessani kapasiteettipuutteita OpenStreetMapissa. Tämä sisälsi OpenStreetMapista riippumattoman karttadatan käsittelyä ja tämä artikkeli on lyhyt katsaus siihen, että miten tätä voi hyödyntää, kun maastosta tarkistaa asioita.

Helsingin kaupungin pyörätelineet karttapalvelusta

Helsingin karttapalvelusta löytää kaupungin vastuulla olevien pyörätelineiden sijainnin, toisin kuin Espoon ja Vantaan vastaavista. Tämä antaa Helsingin osalta hyvän pohjan OpenStreetMapin datasta löytyvien telineiden sijaintitiedon täydentämiseen.

Helsingin karttapalvelusta saa otettua esimerkiksi GML-muotoisen viennin pyörätelineiden koordinaateista. Tässä sijaintieto on GK25FIN-muodossa, joka täytyy erikseen muuttaa yleisemmin kansainvälisessä käytössä olevaan WGS84-koordinaatistoon, joka on myös OpenStreetMapissa käytössä oleva koordinaatisto. Lähdin jo hieman tutkimaan geomatiikan saloja, jotta saisin laskettua itse nämä muunnokset, mutta into lopahti ja käytin sen sijaan valmista pyproj-kirjastoa näihin koordinaatistomuunnoksiin.

OpenStreetMapin datasta pyörätelineet tuli haettua suhteellisen yksinkertaisella Overpass-kyselyllä:

OpenStreetMapin datasta sitten tuli laskettua lähimmät pisteet suhteessa Helsingin kaupungin dataan ja karsittua kaikki pois, joissa Helsingin kaupungin datassa olevan pisteen etäisyys OpenStreetMapin dataan verrattuna oli “liian lähellä”. Tämä lukema hieman vaihteli riippuen siitä, että miltä käsitelty data vaikutti sen jälkeen, kun näitä puuttuvia pyörätelinepisteitä kävi tämän projektin aikana läpi.

Pozdrav, sem začetnik in me zanima, koliko je uporaben javno dostopen kataster stavb na https://ipi.eprostor.gov.si/jv/ Vsaka stavba ima vpisano npr. “Najvišja višinska kota stavbe: 149,5 m Karakteristična višina stavbe: 98,2 m” verjetno je treba odšteti nadmorsko višino tal….koliko je to uporabno? Bonne année et premier update de 2024 donc.

Une semaine un peu plus calme sur OSM, même si j’ai essayé de garder un bon rythme de manière générale. Un peu moins de micromapping et plus de changements plus “importants”, mais c’est aussi en partie parce que j’ai été moins restrictif sur ma zone de “travail” pour une fois (dites bonjour 👋 aux habitations manquantes de la Rue Pierreuse à Liège par exemple).

Au niveau des vidéos, de nouveau trois cette semaine avec :

Améliorons Flémalle (sur OpenStreetMap) - Épisode 3 (La Rue du Charbonnage) - Version live de ce changeset dans lequel je corrige (et micromappe) cette rue de Flémalle grâce en partie à Mapillary

Améliorons Seraing (sur OpenStreetMap) - Épisode 24 (Boncelles et ses “problèmes”) - Version live de ce changeset dans lequel, de nouveau, je résous des “problèmes” sur Boncelles cette fois-ci

Améliorons Flémalle (sur OpenStreetMap) - Épisode 4 (Le plateau des Trixhes) - Version live de ce changeset dans lequel je retourne sur le plateau des Trixhes pour corriger certaines choses et montrer l’évolution du PICC depuis mai 2023 dans le coin

Et c’est tout pour cette semaine. Ce rythme de trois vidéos par semaine est pour le moment le bon compromis je pense, et ça devrait continuer ainsi pour les prochaines semaines en tout cas.
